Hello friends of Bethany,
As some of you may have heard already the alarming news of rioting in Kenya,
specifically the burning of the Assemblies of God church today killing dozens of
people,
Sarah Pruitt of BFI assures us still that all is well with the missions group.
Although it does leave us wondering here at home why a trip was planned
around a time of election when there was some idea of trouble.
God knows though, and it does not change his protective hand that is upon
Bethany.

This from Sarah tonight.....
Good evening prayers,

I want to touch base with you all and let you know that we have just talked to
Brian and the team in Kenya is safe and sound. We are hearing the same reports
that you are and want to let you know that we are in constant (several times a
day) communication with the team and I can assure you they are very safe. It
seems as though there are very safe places through out the country of Kenya and
just pockets of rioting. Where our team is is very safe. Brian and Autumn
Brewer, Sara Henthorn and LeeAnn Beard (the "swat" team) and Gerry Hoover and
Toby Meister (construction team) were able to get a flight out from where they
were staying to a place closer to the city where the second Miracle House
location will be. They landed in the middle of the night and are spending the
night in the city until their safe, dedicated transportation arrives in the
morning to take them to the second Miracle House location. Dan and Garret Bjork
are already there working on the construction and they report good safe times.
The team feels good about their decision to go ahead and fly out. They will be
able to not only help with construction but also be able to do much children's
ministry and drama sites. It is so exciting how in a very short time God has
made a way for the team to head west to take His love and message to the
beautiful people of Kenya. He even provided a believer at baggage check in so
that all the power tools could get on the plane and make it to the construction
site. What a great reminder of God always being God and always knowing what is
best and that His plan is perfect and He works for the good of those who love
Him. Yes Father, we trust you and we know that this trip, this country and this
team are in your hands.

Do pray for the nation of Kenya to be completely taken over by Peace. Civil
peace and the true Peace that comes directly from the Prince of Peace.

I will continue to keep you updated as I have information. In the mean time,
please do not hesitate to contact me for any reason, with any question or
concern. I am praying for each of you as your loved ones are across the globe
serving the Lord. Please send me any other ways I can pray for you as I know we
all can use a little extra prayer.

This is the report as evening comes to Nairobi, we're up and at 'em and off to
church and Bethany's already had a full day.
Sarah doesn't mention her by name, but I know by the end of the trip Bethany
will be known to all :o)

Hello my praying friends!

Yes, that is right, we can safely call each other friends as we serve together
praying these groups through Kenya. The team has arrived in Kenya and all
trunks are present and accounted for except one. The only missing trunk is the
"jam box" but fear not! The team is going to use Autumn's iPod and speakers for
music during the dramas. Pray that the Lord multiplies the sound from those wee
little speakers and His message is heard clearly by more than anyone could have
thought possible. Pray that this doesn't trip the team up but they are able to
be in tune with the iPod and the beats of the music and be able to have Christ
shine through them during the dramas.

Today the team is taking time to pray for Turkmenistan. Turkmenistan is located
on the Caspian Sea with Iran as its neighbor to the south and Afghanistan as its
neighbor to the east. Pray for the people of Turkmenistan to come to know the
healing power of Jesus and understand the difference between the One True God
and the god of Islam. Pray for the president of Turkmenistan as he makes
political alliances with surrounding nations, that he would make wise decisions
to keep his people well.

Finally, as you may or may not know, there was a presidential election in Kenya
yesterday and the results of the election were very close, not unlike the
presidential election of 2000 where George Bush and Al Gore were reliant on
hanging chads in Florida to determine who would be the next leader. The current
president in Kenya was re-elected and there is some questioning of the accuracy
of the count. You may have heard on the news about college students protesting
but rest assured our team is in a very safe place and Brian and Deanna are
monitoring the situation closely in Kenya and Jeannie and I are monitoring the
situation very closely from here and our team is in no danger. I remember from
when I went to Kenya what a beautiful land it is and how peaceful and safe I
felt and I know that the team is resting in that same safety and peace. As I
write this the team is getting all snug and tucked in to bed and resting for a
good ministry day tomorrow. They just finished and awesome worship service
giving praise and honor to the King of Kings and are now ready to rest up. Pray
for good solid rest as they spent the last two days traveling and will be giving
their all to serve the Lord tomorrow.
